He received $16 per month in the suer and $12 per month in the winter, he teaching in the years 1844 and 1845.Here he earned money enough to buy at $10 per acre, 40 acres of the 120 which he owned north of town at the time of his death. He quit farming several years ago and moved into the village. He was the 73rd year of his age at the time of his death. He was twice married, first to the widow of Nicholas Stilson; and for his second wife he married the widow of Wallace Jeffers, who survived him and to whom he was married last fall. The deceased was the father of no children, but he had an adopted son, Will, of whom THE OBSERVER spoke a couple of weeks ago as having been killed at Wooster, Ohio, but about which Mr.Hamlin knew nothing up to the time of his death. Mr.Hamlin was a good citizen and an upright, honorable man. The funeral services will be conducted from his late home and from the M.E.Church, of which he was a member, this (Wednesday) forenoon at 10:30 o'clock, and Rev.French will officiate.
