   Ira Hamlin Dead - Another Pioneer Passes to the Great Beyond

Our People were somewhat surprised to hear on Sunday morning last that Ira 
Hamlin had died at his home in this village during the night.

He had been sick about a fortnight, but had not been considered dangerously sick 
at any time, and even his physician, Dr.Hugg, did not consider his end so 
near.The immediately cause of death was a carbuncle which appeared on the back 
of his neck, the effects of which soon enveloped the head and effected the 
brain; and it is the opinion of the attending physician that the carbuncle burst 
on the inside of the head, producing a clot on the brain.
