The Ionia County News, Thursday, January 9, 1941

Funeral services were held Friday for Mrs. Sarah Hammant at the home of her 
daughter, Mrs. Vern Munger, near Fenwick.

Mrs. Hammant was a former resident here and had many friends.  She had been in 
the habit of spending her summers with Mrs. Munger and winters with her 
daughter, Mrs. Cox, at Decatur, Ill., where she passed away.  She leaves the 
two daughters and one brother, Walter Root of Fenwick and many other relatives 
and friends.
