Ionia County News, 21 Aug 1947

Mrs. Cora Hammond, N. Jefferson St., died at the Ionia Convalescent home, 
Saturday morning, Aug. 16.  She was 77 years old.  Cora L. Essex was born in 
Bushnell township, May 3, 1870, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Aron Essex.  In 
April, 1890, she was married to William H. Hammond.

Besides her husband, she leaves a son, Floyd Hammond, Ionia; and two daughters, 
Mrs. Ina Denney of Willow, Ohio, and Mrs. Hazel Tubbs, of Fostoria, Ohio.

Rev. Osborne, of Palo, officiated at the service held from Myers Funeral Home, 
Tuesday afternoon.  Burial was in Lyons cemetery.
