William H. Hammond, 83, died Wednesday morning, April 1, in a hospital at 
Willows, Calif.  Formerly of Ionia, he had been living for the past five years 
with his daughter, Mrs. G. L. Denny of Willows.

He lived in Ionia for many years and worked as a meat cutter in several Ionia 
grocery stores.  His wife died six years ago in Ionia.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Denny of Willows and Mrs. William H. Tubbs 
of Fostoria; one son, Floyd Hammond, of Ionia, eight grandchildren; 24 great-
grandchildren and a brother, Adelbert Hammond of Bay City.

Services will be conducted at 2 pm Tuesday at Myers Funeral home by the Rev. 
W. Pixley Interment will be in Lyons Cemetery.
