Ionia Sentinel Standard, 16 Aug 1958

Mrs. Margaret Hammond, 88, died Saturday morning at the home of her daughter,
Mrs. Mel Stowell, 216 Burgess street, Lyons.  Mrs. Hammond had been in failing
health for some time.  She was born in London, England, May 26, 1870, and came
to the United States as a child.  Her parents were Mr. and Mrs. John McLaughlin.
 December 28, 1892 she was married to Henry Hammond, who died September 3, 1942
at Smiths Creek.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Mel Stowell of Lyons; two grandchildren, Mrs.
James Hopkins Jr. and John Stowell, both of Lyons, and three
great-grandchildren.  A son Merrell preceded her in death May 25, 1955.

Funeral service will be held at Boynton’s funeral home Monday at 3 p.m. 
Interment is to be at Easton cemetery.
