Lake Odessa Wave -  April 8, 1981
   KALAMAZOO  -  Alonzo Hammond, 83, of Kalamazoo and formerly of Lake Odessa, died
April 3 in Bronson 
Hospital in Kalamazoo.
   He was born Dec. 8, 1897 in Lake Odessa the son of Orin and Cora Barkdull
Hammond.
   He was self employed as a building contractor prior to his retirement.
   He was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel L. (Mote) Hammond on March 14, 1981.
   He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Dennis of Kalamazoo; and two
grandchildren.
   Funeral services were held April 6 from the Langeland Memorial Chapel in
Kalamazoo.
   A graveside service was held from the Lakeside Cemetery in Lake Odessa with the
Rev. Steve Keller of the 
Central United Methodist Church officiating.
