Lake Odessa Wave - March 25, 1981
          MRS. HAZEL L. HAMMOND
   KALAMAZOO  -  Mrs. Hazel L. Hammond, 5100 Century Ave., Kalamazoo, and formerly
of Clarksville, died 
March 14 in Kalamazoo.
   She was born on July 7, 1896 in Clarksville, Mich. the daughter of Abraham and
Margaret Gattner Mote.
   She has been a resident of Kalamazoo since 1954.
   On Dec. 15, 1920, she was united in marriage to Alonzo Hammond.
   She was preceded in death by two sisters, Maxine Mote and Pearl Beebe.
   She is survived by her husband; a daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Dennis of Kalamazoo; two
grandchildren, Craig 
Dennis of Williamstown, Mass. and Mrs. Susan Laden of Richmond, Va.; and several
cousins.
   Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time at Langeland Memorial Chapel in
Kalamazoo. Tentatively, 
services and burial are planned for Wednesday.
   Complete arrangements will be announced later.
