Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, 1 Apr 1938

Funeral services for Dewey D. Hammond were conducted Friday afternoon, April 1 
from the Myers funeral home on East Main street at 2 o’clock by Rev. Earl 
Kneebone, pastor of the Ionia Episcopal church.  Interment was in the mausoleum 
at Grand Ledge cemetery.

Mr. Hammond died suddenly Tuesday of a heart attack upon his arrival in Ionia 
from Florida where he and his wife spent the winter.

Pall bearers were Roy Edlin, Charles Edlin, Roy Terry and Clarence Wilson of 
Lansing.

Those attending the services from away were Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Wilson, Dan 
Kinney and Mrs. Frank Hammond of Lansing, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Currie of Grand 
Ledge and Maurice Hammond of Watersmeet.  Friends and relatives from Charlotte 
also attended.
