He was born in Belding, November 1, 1901, and had lived in Muskegon and Grand Haven, and the later years in Belding. May 10, 1923 he was married in Ithaca to Fern Shaffer, who died in 1961. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Louis McMillan of Belding; six sons, Lloyd, Jr., of DeWitt, Warren of South Bend, Ind., Earl of Indianapolis, Ind., Larry of Evansville, Ind., Lewis of Edwardsburg, and Marvin Hammontree serving with the United States Army in Germany; one sister, Mrs. Henry Griese of St. Joseph, and 18 grandchildren. The Rev. Barry Grahl of Muskegon, formerly of Belding, will conduct services at Huffman funeral home in Belding, Wednesday at 2 p.m. Burial will be at River Ridge cemetery. Bearers are to be Henry Gries, Wallace Frank, Harold Rice, Robert Partlow, Roger Jeffers, and John McMillan.
