Bernice E. Hamp, 90, of Lake Odessa passed away on Sunday, Dec. 1, 2013, at 
Woodlawn Meadows Assisted Living in Hastings.  Bernice was born May 2, 1923, in 
Lake Odessa to William and Laura (Lane) Allen.

She was a graduate of Lake Odessa High School 1941.  On June 28, 1941, she 
married Roger Hamp whom preceded her in death.  Bernice worked for many years 
at Lakewood Grain.  She also served the community as Township Treasurer, a 4-H 
leader and belonged to the Alethian's.  Bernice enjoyed playing golf, cards, 
word searches, jigsaw puzzles, reading, baking and taking mystery trips with 
Hummels. 

Survivors include: Children Allen (Mary) Hamp, Doug (Georgia) Hamp, LaVon 
(Marsha) Hamp, Jerry (Janet) Hamp, and Brother Roger (Alona) Allen; 10 
grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. 

Preceding her in death are: Parents William and Laura Allen; Husband Roger 
Hamp; parents in-law Charles and Ila Hamp; infant sister Barbara Allen; brother 
Paul Allen; sister-in-law Alberta Allen; daughter-in-law Barbara Hamp; 
granddaughter DeeAnn Bautista; great-grandchild Michael Hamp; and special 
friend Laverne Eldridge. 

Visitation is planned for Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2013, at Koops Funeral Chapel 935 
4th Ave., Lake Odessa, Mich. 48849 from 4 till 8 p.m.  Funeral services will be 
held on Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2013, at 11 a.m. at the Koops Funeral Chapel with 
interment following at Lakeside Cemetery, Lake Odessa, Mich.  Memorials may be 
given to either Central United Methodist Church Youth Fund or Pennock Hospice.
