LAKE ODESSA- Barbara Ann Hamp, age 56, of Lake Odessa, was taken Home to be 
with her Lord early Saturday morning, December 17, 2005.

Barb was born in Petoskey on August 11, 1949 to Vern and Mamie (Merril) 
Hankins.

Following the death of her father, her mother married Lloyd Kocher, who was 
special in Barb's life as she grew up.

Barb graduated from Petoskey High School in 1969, and married Jerry Hamp on 
December 5, 1970.

She loved to cook for her family and friends, enjoyed sewing, and had a 
substantial collection of chicken figurines.

Barb had served as a healthcare caretaker for many years, and had great 
devotion and compassion for the elderly. Most recently she had been employed by 
Hope Network of West Michigan.

Barb was a committed Christian and had been an active and devoted member of the 
Charlotte Assembly of God Church.

She loved her family and was a loving wife,  mother, sister, aunt and friend.

Barb is survived by her husband, Jerry Hamp of Lake Odessa; sons, Scott Hamp of 
Charlotte, and Jason Hamp of Farmington Hills; sisters and brothers, Betty 
Bailey, Norman (Edna) Meyer, Emma (Bill) Patrick, all of Ohio, Nora Robinson of 
Lake Odessa, Clair (Teresa) Hankins of Bay Shores, and Martin (Joan) Kocher of 
Petoskey; mother-in-law, Bernice Hamp; and many other loving relatives and 
friends. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Vern and Mamie; step-father, Lloyd; 
and father-in-law, Roger Hamp.

The funeral service was held on Wednesday, December 21, 2005 at the Charlotte 
Assembly of God Church. Burial took place in lakeside Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family to help with Barb's medical 
expenses.

Arrangements by Koops Funeral Chapel in Lake Odessa.
