Nov. 8, 1930 Mrs. C.D. Hampshire Mrs. C.D. Hampshire, 67, died at her home in Berlin township Friday evening following a long illness. The funeral services will be conducted from the home of her daughter, Mrs. Elmer Wood, living across the road from her parents' home, Monday afternoon at 2:30 by rev. Paul L. Stewart. The interment will take place in the Balcom cemetery. Mrs. Hampshire was born in Pella, Ia., but had lived the greater part of her life on a ranch in Kansas. Since her coming to Berlin township to live, 18 years ago, the land which belonged for a time to Mr. Hampshire has become an oil-producing section. Her church affiliations was with the Congregational denomination in her home community at Junction City, Kan. Surviving are the husband; daughters, Mrs. William Franch, Mrs. William Fowler, Mrs. Elmer Wood, Mrs. Monte Bowne, all of Ionia vicinity; sons, Arthur Hampshire of Berlin; W.A. Hampshire, Kansas City, MO., and S.E. Hampshire, of Ionia township; sisters, Mrs.Nancy Rose, state of Washington; Mrs. Sadie Whorley, Los Angeles, Cal.; Mrs. Lottie Clark and Mrs. Thomas Jennings, Junction City, Kan.; one brother, James Bucknear, Chanute, Kas., and 14 grandchildren. Hampshire A large circle of friends made during her 20 years residence in this community gathered at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Wood Monday afternoon for the funeral services for Mrs. C.D.Hampshire, who died Friday evening after a long illness. The service at the house and that at the Balcom cemetery, where the interment took place, were in charge of Dr. Paul L. Stewart. The arrangement of the beautiful floral offerings were in the hands of Mrs. Leslie. Son-in-law, Sheriff William Franch, William Fowler, Elmer Wood, and Monte Bowen, served as bearers.
