She was born April 23, 1949, in Ionia, the daughter of Raymond and Elva (Buxton) Martin. She grew up and attended school in Ionia. She worked for the Ionia MESC and Protective Services. Bonnie served in the U.S.. Marine Corps in the Pentagon. She liked crocheting, gardening and ceramics. She was a member of SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Ionia. She is survived by two daughters, Johny Hampton of Woodland and Joey Hampton of Chicago; her mother, Elva Martin of Ionia; three sisters, Deborah (William) DeBruyne of Ionia, Evelyn "Fran" Preston of Stanton, and Barbara (Art) Kauffman of Ionia; four brothers, Charles (Barbara) Constantine of Lansing, David (Mary) Martin of Mecosta, Joseph (Mary) Martin of Mesick, and Thomas Martin of Ionia; and several nieces and nephews. Bonnie was preceded in death by her father, Raymond Martin. Private family services for Bonnie Hampton will be held. Memorial contributions may be made to the wishes of the family in care of Deborah DeBruyne. Envelopes are available at the Cook Funeral Home, Ionia. Contributions may be mailed to the funeral home at 220 Rich St., Ionia, Mich., 48846. They will be forwarded to the family.
