The Ionia Standard, March 4, 1887

Mrs. Isaac Hanchett, an old an highly respected citizen of Bushnell, died 
Monday morning, age 76.  Funeral held Wednesday at the M. E. church of this 
place, of which she was a member.  The deceased had led a consistent Christian 
life for 57 years, and leaves a large circle of friends and relatives to mourn 
her loss.

During the funeral of Mrs. Hanchett the floor of the M.E. church settled about 
two inches, causing for a few moments almost a panic; some came near 
fainting.  The floor has been examined and fully repaired and is now 
considered perfectly safe, so people need have no fear of any further trouble.
