Harold Handing, age 72, of Battle Creek formerly of Ionia, passed away Sept. 19,
2015, in Battle Creek.  He was born July 3, 1943, in Chicago, Illinois the son
of Roy and Lorraine (Sutfin) Handing.  Harold married Martha Schneider Dec. 15,
1969, in Chicago.  He was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.

Harold is survived by his loving wife of 47 years Martha Handing of Battle
Creek; children, Patricia Lightner of Arizona, Donna Owen and fiance Jeremy
Hadix of Saranac and Harry (Amanda) Handing of Ionia; grandchildren; Amber
(Matthew) Sheppard of Battle Creek, Tamber (James) Philpott of Greenville,
Tianna Owen and fiance, Jordan Strunk of Saranac, Anthony Owen of Saranac,
Branden Bayles of Arizona, Courtney (Bucky) Donaldson of Arizona, Montanna
Handing of Ionia and Bethany Handing of Ionia; several great-grandchildren and
one brother, Robert (Michelle) Handing of Illinois.  

He was preceded in death by his parents, stepfather, John Nanesta and two
brothers, Leroy and Raymond.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 24 at Good Shepherd
Lutheran Church with Pastor Joseph Fremer officiating.  Visitation will be held
Thursday 11 a.m. until time of service at the church.  Interment Chapel Hill
Memorial Gardens.  Arrangements by Lake Funeral Home of Saranac.  Memorial
contributions may be made to Good Shepherd Church or Great Lakes Hospice.
