The Ionia Daily Sentinel, Friday, October 22, 1909

Mrs. Julia Welch Handlon, wife of John Handlon, died on Monday at their home 
northwest of Hubbardston.  The deceased was 44 years of age and leaves a 
husband and six small children, the youngest but a few hours old. 

The funeral was held at St. John’s Catholic church on Thursday, and was one of 
the largest attended ever held in that town.  Deceased was a sister of Mrs. 
Henry Allen and Patrick Welch of Ionia, and was a woman much beloved by her 
neighbors.
