Ionia Sentinel Standard, 24 Nov 2009

Evelyn L. Handlon, of Ionia, age 94, passed away on Saturday, Nov.  21, 2009. 
She was born on April 16, 1915 in Toledo, Ohio the daughter of Ralph and Olive
(Loop) Bihn.  Mrs. Handlon graduated from Michigan Agricultural College
(Michigan State University) in 1932.  She volunteered at the Red Cross for many
years.

Surviving are her sons Richard M. (Carrie) Handlon of Midland and David P.
(Judy) Handlon of Ionia; grandchildren Stephen Handlon, Brady, Megan and Erin
Handlon and sister Phyllis (John) Potter.  She was preceded in death by her
husband Richard “Steve” A. Handlon.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at Balcom
Cemetery, Ionia with Pastor Kenneth Harger officiating.  There will be no
funeral home visitation.  Memorial contributions may be made to the American Red
Cross in memory of Mrs. Handlon.  Arrangements are with the Schrauben-Lehman
Funeral Homes, Ionia Chapel.
