Thomas Edward Handlon, of Ionia, age 77, passed away on Monday, Nov.  23, 2009.
 He was born on March 4, 1932 in Madison, Ind.  Thomas worked as a maintenance
man his entire life.  He loved his workshop at his home and enjoyed gardening
especially raising potatoes and other vegetables.

Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Helen; children Elizabeth (John) Clark,
Cathy (Robert) Beard, Thomas Handlon, Jr. and Dan (Pam) Handlon; grandchildren
Teresa Reed, John (Raby) Clark, Jr., Carrie (Scott) Maynard, Chris (Shannon)
Beard, Casey (Josh) Reinke, Erica Handlon, Matt (Mia) Holder and Jessica Holder;
12 great-grandchildren and brother Harvey (Donna) Goins, Jr.

The funeral service will be conducted by Rev. Dr. Marilyn V. Danielson at 11
a.m., Wednesday, Nov.  25, 2009 at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, 220 Rich
St., Ionia.  Interment will follow at Balcom Cemetery, Ionia.  The family will
receive friends 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home.
