Haney, 94, of rural Ionia died Thursday morning at Ionia Manor. Born in Spencerville, Ohio, July 31, 1890, he was the son of Frederic and Caroline Huff Haney. He attended schools in Ohio and Michigan and lived most of his life in Easton Township. He farmed and managed the Ben Banhagel farm for many years and worked for other farmers also. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during World War I, serving in France. Surviving are four brothers, Louis of San Francisco, Augustus of Detroit, Clarence (Jim) of Lowell and Milo of Chicago; a sister, Miss Minnie Haney of Grant Rapids; a sister-in-law, Violet Haney of San Francisco; and nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Saturday at 3 p.m. from the Leddick Funeral Home, with the Rev. Kenneth Harger of Shiloh Community Church officiating. Burial will be in Easton Cemetery.
