He underwent surgery for thyroid removal in December and had never been well since then. He had been ill four weeks from infection and had been under treatment at Greenville hospital until double pneumonia developed and he was removed to Ann Arbor for special treatments. He was born June 20, 1907 on the farm south of the city on M-91 which was taken up from the government by his ancestors and this was his home his entire life. During the long illness of his father, Milo Haney, he had always stayed at home to carry on the farm work and gave him the best of care he could, until his death. He was married to Effie Lundberg, who preceded him in death about a year ago. Surviving are three brothers, George P. of Grosse Pointe, Grant O. of Greenville and Milo, Jr., of Grand Rapids; three sisters, Mrs. Julia Carmay of Grand Rapids, Mrs. Louise Schaich of Winonah Lake, Ind., and Mrs. Eunice Dieleman of Grand Rapids. Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2:30 from the Fitzjohn Funeral Home, Rev. Gus Ferre officiating and interment was in the family lot at River Ridge cemetery. Pallbearers were George Aubill, Sylvester Wells, Gustave Jacoby, Leon Tallman, Harold Mawby and Rollo Kilborn.
