Nov. 1, 1973 Claude S. Haney Services Held Claude S. Haney, 85, life long resident of the lake Odessa area, passed away in the Osteopathic hospital in Grand Rapids Tuesday morning. He was admitted October 24, following a stroke. Mr. Haney was born near Bonanza Corners August 24, 188, the son of Henry and Mabelle (Filkins) Haney. He was married February 16, 1915 to Harriet H. Sutherland of Lake Odessa. A former member of the I.O.O.F., he was employed by Johnson & Rader Machine Shop of Belding, retiring in 1953. Surviving is his wife Harriet; 4 sons, Ralph H. of Bedford, Texas, Milo H. of Detroit, C. Max and Donald O., both of Lake Odessa; 2 daughters, Mrs. Lawrence (Barbara) Bowers of Phoenix, Ariz., and Mrs. Melvin (Yvonne) Brooks of Lake Odessa; 18 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held on Thursday (Today) at 1:30 p.m. at Pickens-Koop Funeral Chapel. Rev. Marvin Zimmerman officiated with burial in Lakeside cemetery.
