Ionia Sentinel Standard, 11 Apr 1978

George P. Haney, 66, of Canadian Lakes, Stanwood, died Friday at Winter Haven,
Florida.  He was born in Belding March 9, 1912 and was a veteran of World War II
and the Korean conflict.  He was a graduate of Belding high school and Wayne
State University and a member of the Northland United Methodist church in
Stanwood and the Belding Masonic Lodge.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia; one step-daughter, Mrs. Richard (Janet)
Bookey of Rockford; two sisters, Mrs. John (Louise) Schaich of Flint and Mrs.
Eunice Dieleman of Grand Rapids; one brother, Grant of Grand Rapids and two
grandchildren.

Graveside services are Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. in River Ridge cemetery in Belding
with Rev. Max Gladding of Northland United Methodist church officiating. 
Masonic services are under the auspices of Belding lodge 355 F&AM.  The family
will receive friends and relatives at the Charles M. Courser funeral home
Tuesday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 8:30 p.m.  A memorial fund is established for the
Michigan Masonic Home.
