Lake Odessa Wave Times, 3 Oct 1919

Grace Isabelle Shade, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R.I. Shade, was born Dec. 2,
1893, and departed this life Sept. 24, 1919, at the age of 25 years, 9 mos. and
22 days.  Grace was born in Woodland Twp., and was one of seven children; six
are left to mourn their loss.  

Grace spent her childhood and early life in and near Woodland, Mich.  On Jan.
19, 1910, she was united in marriage to Edward Haney, of Lake Odessa, Mich., has
lived a faithful companion and helpmate until her death.  To this union were
born three children, two girls and one boy, one girl in infancy, and her father
on Sept. 17, 1919, preceded her to the better world.

She leaves a husband, two children, a mother, two sisters and four brothers,
with two half brothers of Ohio and a half sister of Lake Odessa, Mich. besides a
host of other relatives and friends to mourn her departure.

Grace was a very patient and loving wife and mother.  She never made a murmur in
any of her sufferings and was patient until the end.  Always willing and wanting
to do and help others, no matter how hard the task.  She was a member of the
Otterbein Lifters, a Sunday School class of the U.B. church, was also a member
of the L.O.T.M., and was always willing to do her part in each.  Grace was
always a loving and kind neighbor and will be missed by all who knew her.

Funeral took place Sunday afternoon at 2 o ‘clock in the Liberal U.B. church,
Rev. C.H. Zuse officiating.  Burial at Lakeside cemetery.
