Alexander Hannah, a well known resident of this city and county, passed away at the family home, 416 Johnson street, this morning at 1:30, after an illness lasting seven weeks. Mr. Hannah, who was 76 years of age at the time of his death, had been a resident of this city for 40 years. For many years Mr. Hannah was employed at the Pere Marquette shops. During the past two or three years Mr. Hannah was flagman at the Pere Marquette crossing at the Hudson hotel corners. Mr. Hannah was born in Canada. He has been confined to his bed for the past seven weeks. The cause of his death was given as hardening of the arteries. Mr. Hannah is survived by his widow and five children, Burt Hannah, of Grand Rapids; Alexander Hannah, of Seattle, Washington, Myron Hannah, Eugene Hannah, and Mrs. August Renz, all of Ionia. The funeral announcement will be made later. ------------ The funeral for Alex Hannah was held from the late home, 416 Johnson street, Saturday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock. Rev. W.T. Woodhouse officiated. The music was furnished by Mrs. Eugene Smith and Mrs. Grace Cressy. The bearers were Bert Walker, E.G. Furman, Richard Hess, and William Swartz. Those from away were a son and family, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Hannah and son Kenneth, of Grand Rapids. The floral offerings were many and very beautiful. The service was largely attended by friends of Mr. Hannah and family.
