Funeral Tuesday at M.E. Church After a lingering illness of several years Mrs.Jerry Hansbarger died last Saturday evening. Mrs. Hansbarger's disease was of an internal cancerous nature causing her much inconvenience for years and much pain for weeks past. She was well known in Odessa township, where she lived when in good health. And was greatly admired and beloved for her Christian character. Since coming to Lake Odessa she has lived a quiet trustful life realizing that the end must come sooner or later. She selected the text for the funeral sermon, and made other arrangements. The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon at the M.E. Church. Rev. Isaac Mourer officiating, assisted by Rev. Thos. Laity. The singing was by Mesdames Thos. Johnson and A.J Dann and Messrs Thos. Laity and Howard Lawrence, accompanied by Miss Pearl Deemer. Interment was at Lakeside Cemetery. OBITUARY Samatha Price was born in Rockingham Co. VA, Dec. 8, 1849 and departed this life Jan. 27, 1912 aged 62 years, 1 month and 19 days. At the age of two years she moved with her parents to Seneca Co, Ohio. In 1873 she was united in marriage to Jerry Hansbarger to whom were born five children William, Harlie, Emma, Ellen (who died in infancy) Plinie and Arthur Joseph. In 1876 she was converted and united with the Primitive Baptist church in Seneca Co, Ohio and up to the time of her death her faith in God was not unshaken. In 1882 she with her family came to Odessa township and in 1896 moved to this village. She was next to the youngest of 12 children of whom 3 sisters survive her. These with the husband, four sons and nine grandchildren and a host of friends remain to mourn her loss.
