The daughter of George Victor and Luella May (Peterson) Packard, she was born on Sept 18, 1938 in Belding. On July 25, 1959 she married Edwin F. Hansen and together they enjoyed almost 37 years of marriage and had four children. Charlene was a member of the Vickeryville United Methodist Church and only her love of God came before her family. She will be remembered for her love of all children (especially babies), was a daycare provider in her own home for many years, and had volunteered as a Girl Scout Brownie Leader, a Cub Scout Den Mother, and a Sunday School teacher. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Keith Packard and Ronald Packard; a daughter, Pamela Hansen in 1967; and her husband, Edwin F. Hansen on July 16, 1996. Surviving are her children, Kathy and Doyle Miller Jr. of Petoskey, Karen and Donald Mays of Belding, and Mike Hansen of Grand Rapids; three grandchildren, Doyle Miller III and Katie Bonnie of Traverse City, Chrissy and Wayne Durga of Lake Ann, and Laura Schultz and Cassandra Kingsley of Belding; four great grandchildren, Jet Miller and Avie Miller, both of Traverse City, and Owen Durga and Dominic Durga of Lake Ann; a brother, Roger and Crystal Packard of Belding; a brother-in-law, Robert and Ruth Hansen of Greenville; two sisters-in- law, Barbara Clark of Lyons, and Loraine Packard of Greenville; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday and 10 to 11 a.m. on Thursday at Chirstiansen Cremation & Funeral Care, 511 S. Franklin St., Greenville, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday. The Rev. Rusty Morgan, pastor of the Vickeryville United Methodist Church will officiate and burial will take place privately at Evergreen Township Cemetery near Sheridan. Envelopes for memorial contributions to Either the Vickeryville United Methodist Church or Ionia County Meals on Wheels will be available at the funeral home.
