Services Held for Edith M. Hanson

Mrs. Edith M. Hanson, 74, widow of Bert Hanson and former Clarksville resident, 
passed away Wednesday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Leon (Mary) Walter of 
rural Saranac.

She was born in Boston Township, Ionia County, the daughter of Alonza and Emma 
Walter and was a lifelong resident of the Clarksville area. 

Mrs. Hanson was a member of the Clarksville Bible Church, a life member of the 
Clarksville Chapter Eastern Star and a member of the South Boston Grange. 

Surviving besides Mrs. Walter is another daughter, Mrs. Hector (Emma) Vernetti 
of Scottsdale, Arizona; a son, Versil Witbeck; one step-daughter, Mrs. Mildred 
Haight, of Lansing; four step-sons, Gilbert of Louisiana, Francis of Detroit, 
Dale of Clarksville and Bert of Lowell; 2 sisters, Mrs. Zella Elsworth of Ionia 
and Mrs. Eunice Lake of Belding and two brothers, Chris Walter of Sheridan and 
Russell of Midland.

Funeral services were held Saturday at 1 o'clock at Clarksville Bible Church. 
Rev. Donald Mathis officiated with burial in the Clarksville cemetery.

Arrangements by the Pickens Funeral Chapel.
