Hargrave, wife of Dr. Frank Hargrave, pioneer physician of Palo, died at her home in that village Monday, July 13, after a long illness. Amelia Mildred Hann, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Hann, was born in Decatur, Ill., December 19, 1860. She received her education in the schools of Omro, Wisconsin, later attending the normal at Oskosh, Wisconsin, where she became a member of the faculty and taught for several years. On July 16, 1885, she was united in marriage with Dr. F.A. Hargrave, the ceremony taking place at Winnecombe, Wis. Soon after their marriage Dr. and Mrs. Hargrave came to Ionia county and Palo, which has been their home for fifty-one years. Remaining relatives are her husband, Dr. F.A. Hargrave, two sons, Dr. Don Hargrave, of Eaton Rapids, and James Hargrave, of Landing, and one daughter, Mrs. Harmon Kline, of Detroit, who was with her during her illness. Funeral services will be from the Palo Baptist church at two o’clock Thursday afternoon, July 16.
