Ionia County News, 24 Dec 1959

Leonard L. Harkrader, 64, of Saranac, died Sunday, December 20, at Carson City
hospital.  He was born May 3, 1895 in Lima, Ohio.

Surviving are his wife, Bonnie of Saranac; five sons, Henry of Orange,
California, Leonard, Jr., of Gladwin, Ernest of Florida, Cecil R. Harkrader of
Orange City, California, and Don Butler of Ionia; five daughters, Mrs. Maxine
Hudson of Hunter, N.D., Mrs. Betty Jo Simmons of St. Ignace, Mrs. Betty
Nettleton of Gladwin, Mrs. Gladitch Mitchell of Clarksville, and Mrs. Alice Long
of Cadillac; one brother, Frank Harkrader of Hammond, Indiana; two sisters, Mrs.
Julia Edwards of Sterling and Mrs. Lucinda Sanders of Ionia, and 24 grandchildren.

Funeral service was held Tuesday, December 22, at the Morris Funeral Home with
the Rev. William Grove officiating.  Interment was in Saranac Cemetery.
