He was born August 20, 1942 in Prosperity, South Carolina, the son of Herbert W. & Ruby L. (Byrd) Harley. Lee was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam War, was retired from Ford Motor Company in Detroit, loved to spend time with all of his family, enjoyed attending the Woodward Dream Cruise to see all types of classic cars, loved dogs, to fix cars, pray and talk about the Lord, sweets—especially chocolate, swimming and riding bicycles. He also enjoyed Motown and gospel music, watching classic cowboy westerns and other black and white movies, enjoyed feeding the ducks bread, was a part of a military family, shared old stories and loved his only grandson Owen. He is survived by his daughters Heather Oudbier and Heidi Harley both of Wyoming; grandson Owen Connor Oudbier; brother Glen Harley of Saranac and his sisters Linda Doty of Ft. Myers, Florida and Carole LaRue of Glenn Ellyn, Illinois. He is preceded in death by his wife Diana Harley and his sister Martha Harley. Memorial Services will be 1 p.m. today at the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans, with members of the family meeting with friends and relatives from noon until the service. Burial will take place in the spring at the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans. Arrangements are by the Marshall Funeral Home, Greenville.
