The Ionia Daily Sentinel, Tuesday, September 17, 1918
Claire Harnden, the locomotive fireman who was injured in the Smyrna wreck 
along with his engineer, “Yank” Robertson, died in the hospital Saturday 
afternoon at 5:30.  Funeral at Detroit on Tuesday.  Deceased leaves a wife and 
three children.
