Herrick, 31, of 17457 Outer Drive, Big Rapids, died Sunday, March 15 at the Mecosta County Hospital. She was born November 27, 1952, the daughter of Leonard and Margaret Wholey. She came to Michigan in 1969 where she lived in the Alma-Mt. Pleasant area. She moved to Big Rapids in 1982. She graduated from Alma High School and attended Lansing Community College and Ferris State College. She married James Herrick on August 2, 1980 in Alma. Surviving are her husband; one son, Gordon James McCarthy; one daughter Margaret McCarthy; her parents, Leonard and Margaret Wholey; one sister, Mrs. Kathleen Beyer of Shepard, Michigan; several nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles. Mrs. Herrick is reposing at the Rogers-Mohnke Funeral Home in Big Rapids until 9 p.m. Tuesday. A scripture service will be held Tuesday at 8 p.m. at the Roger-Mohnke Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the Lake Funeral Home in Saranac with Rev. Edwin Mendenhall officiating. Interment will be in the Saranac Cemetery.
