MAUDIE L. HARRINGTON 1923-2016
Maudie L. Harrington, 92, of Belding, July 7, 2016 at Spectrum health in Greenville.
 Maudie was born on Dec. 22, 1923 in Belding, the daughter of Arthur B. and Mary (Deitz) 
Christensen.  

Maude graduated from Belding High School with the class of 1942 and later worked at
Gibson's in Belding, Jolly Kids and in the kitchen at the Belding Hospital. She
enjoyed country music, crocheting and gave away many baby sets that she had crocheted over
the years. Maudie was blessed with a good sense of humor and optimism.

She was married on Oct. 9, 1948 in Belding to Robert W. Harrington and he preceded
her on June 10, 1991. She was also preceded in death by her parents; two children,
Daniel Harrington and Judy Nelson; three brothers, Charles, William and Otto; and three
sisters, Fannie, Annanell and Marian.

Maudie is loved and survived by her daughter; Janet and Robert Travis of Turk lake;
her daughter-in-law, Karen, and Jim Wood of Saranac; 10 grandchildren; 27 great-
grandchildren; 17 great-great-grandchildren; and two sister-in-laws, Lorraine
Pretzel of Traverse city and Fran Christensen of Eaton Rapids.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at Johnson-Feuerstein
Funeral home with Pastor Ken Harger officiating. Committal prayers will follow in River
Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 6-8 p.m. at the Funeral home. Memorials may
be given to the Belding Museum or Shiloh Community Church. Message of condolence may
