Carl L. Harris, 66, of Lansing passed away March 27, 2005.  He was born in
Lansing Jan. 1, 1939 the son of Orville and Mabel (Steele) Harris.  Carl was the
head custodian at Michigan State University for 23 years and enjoyed fishing and
bird watching.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and mother-in-law, Florence Hoppes. 
Surviving are his wife of 33 years, Kate; sisters, Marilyn (Robert) Schmidt of
Holt and Joyce Harris of Lansing; father-in-law, Robert Hoppes, Sr. of Portland;
sister and brother-in-laws, Robert (Linda) Hoppes, Jr. of Portland, Vicki (Al)
Richar of Tekonsha, Mary (Dan) Ferguson, Joyce Hoppes, Jeanne (Tommy Grawburg)
Hoppes, Judy (Rob) Barr, Julie (Gene) Ridenour, Marsha (Dan) Gambill, and John
Hoppes, all of Portland; many nieces and nephews.

Services were held March 30 at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, Portland. 
Interment followed at Portland Cemetery.
