Harris, 89, of Lake Odessa, went to be with her Lord in Heaven Saturday, Dec. 30, 2000. Sarah was born May 6, 1911, in Lake Odessa, the daughter of Jay and Violet (Heater) Daniels. She grew up and attended school in Lake Odessa and was married in Lake Odessa on Dec. 1, 1933 to Ernest E. Harris. Sarah was a member of XYZ in Belding and a member of the Greenville VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She liked cooking, knitting, crocheting and loved to play Bingo. Sarah loved life and especially loved and enjoyed her children and family. She will be dearly missed by them. Mrs. Harris is survived by three daughters; Doris (Lyle) Eastman of M.C., Betty (Richard) Davis of Lake Odessa and Barbara Gorsuch of Orleans; four sons; Norman (Marion) Harris of Lake Odessa, Ernest Harris of Belding; Robert (Elzada) Harris of Belding and Roger (Imogene) Harris of Belding; 30 grandchildren; 54 great-grandchildren; one brother; Albert Daniels of Ionia; two daughters-in-law; Carolyn Harris of Ionia and Sharon Harris of Ionia; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest; two sons; Larry Harris and Kenneth Harris; one granddaughter; Celeste Rupena; one brother, Calvin Daniels; two sisters; Ellen Soules and Evelyn Wacha. Visiting hours for Mrs. Sarah J. Harris will be Tuesday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Cook Funeral Home, Rich Street Chapel, Ionia. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. from the funeral home with Pastor Kenneth Harger of Shiloh Community Church officiating. Interment will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Lake Odessa, at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the wishes of the Harris Family. Envelopes are available at Cook Funeral Home.
