She was born December 17, 1921, in Easton Township, the daughter of Guy and Beatrice Best Smith. Also secretary for the Covered Village Mall Association, Mrs. Harris retired in 1984. She was a member of Belding Business and Professional Women’s Club and Hugo-Fales American Legion Auxiliary. In 1942 she married William Harris, who survives. Also surviving are four daughters, Mrs. James (Rita) Smith, Carson City, Mrs. Ives (Lisa) Protrofka, Flint, Mrs. Harlan (Leslie) Hoffman, Fort Wayne, Ind., Melinda Harris, Sand Lake; seven sons and their wives, Eldred and Maxine, Michael and Shirley, Philip and Donna, all of Greenville, William Jr. and Sue, Tim and Roxanne, Sigurd and Lois, Gowen, Ronald Leigh and Patricia, Milton, Fla. There are 30 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Funeral-committal services are 1 p.m. Monday at Johnson Funeral Home, Belding, the Rev. Lillian Downing officiating. Interment will be in River Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. Saturday and after noon on Sunday. Memorial contributions may be made to Michigan Heart Association.
