Born in Belding, MI, August 22, 1921 to Donald V.& Neva (Kelly) Harris. Married to Betty Jane (Isbell) Harris in 1939 in Cleveland,OH. Preceded in death by wife Betty February 2004 after 64 years of marriage & brother Robert George Harris. Survived by four children, Katheryn (Duane)Davidson, Michael (Mary) Harris, Donna Johnson & Nancy Cherry, 9 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren & 2 great- great-grandchildren. Bucky & Betty enjoyed time with family, traveling, meeting people, hunting & fishing in the great outdoors. They were member of the First Congregational Church in Eaton Rapids. Bucky retired from Michigan Bell Telephone Company in 1979 after 38 years service. He attended Citizen Military Training Camp at Camp Custer, MI. In 1937 & 1939 he was assigned to the 25th Infantry Division, Southwest Pacific Theater of Operation during WWII. Member of the Michigan National Guard for 24 years before retiring from the US Army in 1981. Fraternal affiliations were:life member of Past Master of Eaton Rapids Masonic Lodge363 F& AM. ,High priest of the Royal Arch Masons chapters 24 & 100, past Worthy Patron of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapters 241 & 352, Elks Lodge #548 & Honorable order of Kentucky Colonels, honorary life member of the American Legion Post #15 & in 1984-85 was State Commander for the Department of Michigan, honorary life member of Voiture #1332, the Society of the Forty & Eight & in 1980 was National Chef de Gare, Veterans of Foreign Wars post 1243 & 2406, Amvets post 120, Associate member of Royal Canadian Legion, branch 109, Army, Navy & Air Force Veterans in Canada,United States Unit. Funeral Service will be Friday, September 28, 2007 at 1:00 PM from the Skinner Funeral Home, in Eaton Rapids. Visitation will be Thursday from 2-4 PM & 6-9 PM with an Eastern Star & Masonic Memorial Service starting at 6:00 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice in honor of Bucky.
