Harris, 66, of Belding passed away Friday evening, May 12, 2006 at Spectrum Health United Memorial Campus in Greenville. David was born on May 24, 1939 in Belding the son of Carl E. and Grace Benedict Harris. David graduated from Belding High School with the Class of 1957 and had worked at Lepppink’s Food Stores in Belding, Stanton and Lakeview for 20 years. In his earlier years he was involved with Special Olympics. David enjoyed archery and was a past member of the Turk Lake Archery Club. He is survived by his father, Carl E. Harris of Belding, his brothers and their spouses, Carl and Betty Harris Jr. of Florida, William B. and Joy Harris of Belding and Casey and Sandy Bunce of Florida. Also surviving are his niece and nephews; Patty, James and John and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother. Private graveside services will be held at River Ridge Cemetery, Belding with Pastor Ken Harger of Shiloh Community Church officiating. A public memorial service will be held in June. No visitation will take place. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Diabetes Association or the Belding Museum.
