Miss Christol Swift was born April 8, 1883, at Midland, Mich., attended school in Grand Rapids. Leaving Grand Rapids at the age of 15 years, she was employed as housekeeper for Dr. J. Jarvis, of Traverse City, until 1902. She joined the M.E. church at the age of eleven years. She was united in marriage with Percy Harris, of Bendon, at Bendon, March 19, 1902. To this union five children were born, three sons and two daughters. The family came to Ionia in 1917. Due to ill health she was unable to attend church or social duties. A kind and loving mother, loved by all who knew her, patient thru all her suffering. The past four months were most trying, but not a word of complaint was heard. Those left to mourn their loss are her husband, Percy Harris; five children, William George Harris and L. D. Harris, Belding; Everett Carl Harris, Muskegon; Mrs. Lewis Schapf, Flint; Mrs. John Jesko, Jr., Belding; ten grandchildren and one sister. Pall bearers were all friends of the boys who loved her and call her mother, Bayine Bernier, Beverley Bernier, Charles Mason, Donald Pierce, Harry Showers and Clare Elliott. Out of town friends who attended the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Roy Van DeBogart, Muskegon; Mrs. Lewis Schapf, Sr., Flint; Everett Van DeBogart, Muskegon; Mrs. Donald Pierce, Greenville, Mich.; Mrs. W. C. Kempher, Belding, Mich. - Com. CARD OF THANKS We wish to thank all friends and neighbors for the beautiful flowers and cars. Rev. Batdorf, of Belding, for the comforting words spoken during the illness and death of our beloved wife and mother. Percy Harris and Family, and sister, Mrs. Goldie A. Schneider.
