Deepest sorrow in developed the village of Muir and community when the news of the death of William Harrison reached here Sunday evening, February 23. Mr. Harrison’s death occurred in Clinton Memorial hospital, St. Johns, after a few days’ illness. Deceased was born in Streator, Illinois, in 1884, the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Henry Harrison. During the World War, in which he served, he was united in marriage with Miss Bessie Strachan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Strachan, the ceremony taking place on August 15, 1917. Mr. and Mrs. Harrison went to Chicago where they lived for some time after the war and where their daughter, Elizabeth, was born. They later moved to Muir and Mr. Harrison engaged in the grocery and meat business in the store now known as the Harrison store. In 1926 Mrs. Harrison died and four years later, on April 20, 1930 Mr. Harrison married Miss Florence Gilleo, who with his daughter Elizabeth, a student at M.S.C., Lansing, mourn a truly devoted husband and father. Mr. Harrison is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Mary Carlson and Miss Anna B. Harrison, both of Washington, D.C., and one brother, Ernest, of Danville, Illinois. Largely attended funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon from the Muir Presbyterian Church. Rev. Paul L. Stewart, of the Ionia Church of Christ, officiated and burial was in Muir cemetery.
