Betty was born on April 1, 1928 to Newton and Retha Reynnells in Lawrence, Michigan. She met the love of her life, Joseph Harrison, while attending grade school in Lawrence. The two of them married on April 24, 1948 after Joe returned from the Korean war. Joe enrolled at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo and Betty got a job at Upjohn to pay the bills while he obtained his degrees. After Joe's graduation, they settled in various small towns in Michigan and started their family, making their way to Ionia with their two daughters in 1962. As her daughters grew, Betty decided to get a full time job and started working at First Security Bank in Ionia (Which later became Independent Bank, and quickly earned a promotion up to Branch Manager of the Lyons Muir branch. She worked there happily for many years. While living in Mecosta in 1957, they had purchased a small cottage in the area on Horsehead Lake. Many happy summers were spent there during their 62 years of marriage, and Betty found peace at the summer. She is also survived by her four nephews, Richard Reynnells (Louise cottage after Joe passed in October of 2009. Betty is survived by her two daughters Brenda (Paul Prescott) and Diane (Brad Winegard), her two grandchildren Jay (Leah) Prescott, and Marie (Ryan Urbanski) and her two great-grandchildren. Bruce Urbanski and Ben Prescott. She is also survived by four nephews, Richard Reynnells (Louise), Russell Reynnells (Sue), Bob Renneills (Paula Anderson), and Tom Rennells (Linda). Betty requested that a private graveside memorial be held in Lawrence, Michigan where her final resting place will be next to her beloved husband, Joseph.The date to be determined.
