Mrs. Willard J. Harroun’s Sufferings are Ended – Passed Peacefully Away Sept. 
15th.

Mrs. W.J. Harroun, who has been suffering from the ravages of that dread 
disease consumption for the past two years, passed to eternal rest Friday, 
Sept. 15th and her sufferings on earth are over.

For the past six months the deceased had been unable to do anything but during 
all her long sickness and mental as well as physical suffering, she bore the 
affliction with great fortitude and remained patient and cheerful under the 
trying circumstances, always having a good word to say and taking an anxious 
interest in the welfare of the family.

Mary Lucetta Buttermore was born in Doyelstown, Wayne Co., O., Dec. 11, 1863, 
and after coming to Michigan was married to Willard J. Harroun in Lowell, Sept. 
16, 1887.

Five children were born to them, four boys and one girl, Jessie, the oldest, 
being aged 17, who has had the care of the house during her mother’s illness.

They have resided in this city about 16 years and Mrs. Harroun was one of the 
kindest of mothers and neighbors.

She united with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Belding, 
Aug. 25, 1897 and has always been a consistent Christian woman.

The funeral service was largely attended at the late residence Monday 
afternoon.  Elder E. K. Evans, of Grand Rapids, officiated.  Many flowers, 
testimonials of esteem for the deceased, were on and about the casket.  Her 
remains were placed in the Otisco cemetery.
