When but nine years of age she with her parents removed to Afton township, Sedgewick Co., Kansas. Only eight short years after this, she with two brothers were left orphans and very soon came to Mich to be among friends. Being of an energetic ambitious disposition she endeavored as long as strength permitted to maintain herself, working in the factory in Belding until about seven weeks ago when she was obliged to give up entirely. After making a few visits she came to the home of her aunt, Mrs. Jas Henry, where she was cared for until the afternoon of Feb. 19 when she very quietly passed away in the arms of her attendant. She has known and realized from the first that the end was nigh and has several times expressed her willingness to go, saying she was not afraid to die. She was very patient during her sickness no murmurings passed her lips but was cheerful amid it all. She leaves besides other friends the two brothers mentioned to mourn her loss. May the dear Lord bless them and so direct their footsteps that at the last they may all be united in that land of eternal sunshine. The funeral was held at her aunt’s residence, Wednesday at 10 o’clock. The remains being buried in the Marble cemetery.
