He came to this state with his parents when a small boy settling on the farm that has ever since been his home. He served in the Union army from August 1862-65. In 1866 he was united in marriage to Margaret Carveth, who preceded him in death on November 3, 1882. To this union were born four children, three of whom survive, Mrs. Mary Hull of Oakfield and Clarence and Elmer Hart of Keene. He is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Denton, of Eagle River, Wisconsin. Funeral services were held Tuesday, September 16, in charge of Rev. A. H. Lash, of Lowell.
