The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Wednesday, June 27, 1934

Mrs. Sophia Harter, 83 years of age, died at her home, 213˝  West Main street, 
Tuesday afternoon at 5:30 o’clock following a long illness caused from a 
stroke she had three months ago.

Mrs. Harter was born in New York in 1851, and had been a resident of Ionia for 
many years.  Her husband, Byron Harter, died in 1918.  She is survived by a 
sister, Mrs. Fannie Ingraham, and two nephews, of Herkimer, N.Y., and two 
nieces, of Detroit.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday afternoon at 2 o’clock from the 
Boynton funeral chapel.  Interment will be at Highland Park cemetery.
