G. Hartle died at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Fitzjohn, Wednesday afternoon, where she had been critically ill for the past two weeks. She spent the summer with another daughter, the Ninde Moshers at Sand Lake and was returned here by ambulance. She had been a semi-invalid for five years. She was born in Lenawee county, June 16, 1862, and had been a life long member of the Free Methodist church. She was married to Rev. A. G. Hartle who passed away March 21, 1941. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary March 4, that year and she was engaged in pastoral work with him for 53 years. Left to mourn their loss are four daughters, Mrs. Emerson Davenport, Royal Oak; Mrs. Ninde Mosher, Sand Lake; Mrs. Peter Burleigh, Eveleth, Minn., and Mrs. Arthur Fitzjohn of this city; also three sons, Chester, of Nellie, Ohio; Burton, of Clermont, Florida; and Bernard of Eaton Rapids; one sister, Mrs. Will Jordan, Cedar Springs; two brothers, C. Burt Ashley, Rockford and Ira Ashley, Tecumseh, 19 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2:30 at Fitzjohn’s funeral home, Rev. Lawrence Gibbs of Charlotte will officiate, assisted by Rev. Floyd Butcher of the local church. Interment will be in the cemetery at Orleans.
