Hartley, 77, died Saturday at Leesburg, Fla., where he has made his home the past three years. He was born May 14, 1894, at Waldron and was associated with the two firms 20 years until his retirement 12 years ago. He had made his home in Owosso and was a member of St. Pauls Catholic church at Owosso, member of the Knights of Columbus fourth degree, Leesburg Elks club and past president of Michigan Elks association, member of American Society of Automotive Body engineers, chairman emeritus of National Elks major projects commission for handicapped children. Surviving are his widow, Edith, two sons, Patrick of Ionia, Navy Commander Donald Hartley of Washington D.C.; two daughters, Mrs. Betty Worthington of Norfolk, Va., Mrs. Colleen McKictick of Columbus, Ohio; eight grandchildren; stepsister, Mrs. Alice Moon of Bradenton, Fla. Memorial services will be at Leesburg Monday. Funeral services will be conducted at Scarlett funeral home in Owosso Friday at 10 a.m. Interment will be at Owosso. Rosary will be recited Thursday at 8:30 p.m. at the Owosso funeral home. A memorial has been established for Elks handicapped children’s fund.
