Ionia County News, 25 Oct 1951

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon from the Shaw-Rivett funeral home 
in Muir for David Hartman, 81, who passed away Friday at a South Lansing 
convalescent home.  He was born August 29, 1870, the son of Mr. and Mrs. 
Benjamin Hartman, at the farm home east of Lyons.  In 1897 he was married to 
Miss Frankie Kimball of Lyons, who passed away in 1900.  

He was in California and Arizona for several years and returned in 1949 to live 
with his daughter, Mrs. Gladys H. Johns of Eaton Rapids.  He is survived by the 
daughter and several nieces and nephews.

Rev. Earl F. Buffum of Lyons was in charge of the services, and Mrs. Milo B. 
White of the music.  The bearers were Orville Hartman, Oliver Hartman, Benjamin 
Hartman, Stephen Kimball, Wilbur Bennett and Howard Kimball, Jr.  Burial was in 
Lyons cemetery.
