Mildred Louise Hartman, 74, of Ionia, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2011. She 
was born on July 30, 1936 in Orleans the daughter of Henry and Elizabeth 
(Schramm) Heppe. Mildred was a lifelong farmer who loved her dairy farm. She 
enjoyed gardening and especially loved life and her family.

Mildred was prececed in death by her husband, Stephen in 2003; brothers Vernon, 
Harvey and Robert Heppe. Surviving are her children Elizabeth (Jimmy) Voorheis, 
Marcus (Tamara) Hartman and Frank (Kim) Hartman all of Ionia; grandchildren 
Benjamin, Laura, and Amanda Hartman. Sophia, Thomas (Calley), Kirsten and 
Raymond Christensen; sister Katherine (Steve) Kenter of Orleans; sisters-in-law 
Kathleen Heppe, Gertrude Heppe and Lucille Heppe; brother-in-law William 
(Sharon) Hartman of Ionia; special cousin David Hartman of Grand Rapids; many 
nieces and nephews.

The Funeral Service will be conducted by Pastor Kenneth Harger at 11 a.m. 
Saturday, Jan. 8, 2011 at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, 220 Rich St., 
Ionia. Interment will follow at Woodard Lake Cemetery. The family will receive 
friends 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4 to 6 p.m., Friday Jan. 7, 2011 at the funeral 
home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Ionia Co. Commission on Aging in
